FAQ's

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • Why should I pay to hire someone to build a scope of work when I can "go out to bid" and use that bid as a scope of work for other bidders?

Are you uncertain that you are getting the best quality and service at your HOA? Do you feel like you are paying too much for services and don't have a benchmark to assess? ScopeBLDR eliminates the frustrations associated with with poor quality of work, lack of trust, wasted time and money by standing by our motto of "successful outcomes begin with clear expectations."

A paid consultant has no dog in the fight in winning the bid and is reviewed solely on the quality of the scope of work that they write. This scope of work can be taken out to bid and allows the vendors you invite to bid off a well defined scope that ensures every detail and expecatation can be met by the vendor that is awarded the bid. Spend money upfront to not have to deal with all the headaches once projects start, including lowball bids made up by change orders and dealing with vendors that overpromise and underdeliver.

  • How much does it cost to hire a ScopeBLDR?

The fee a ScopeBLDR charges is entirely up to them based on experience and level of engagement. Our ScopeBLDR's set their hourly rate and preferred level of engagement in their profile. Our platform allows to hire ScopeBLDR's for a variety of roles:

    • To solely build the scope of work for a project
    • To build the scope of work and go out to bid
    • To build the scope of work, go out to bid, and manage the implementation of the project

Depending on the level of engagement that is agreed upon, ScopeBLDR's can also offer a fixed "Not to exceed" cost for the entire project.

  • Does it cost money to be listed on this platform?

No, our platform is 100% free to be listed as a ScopeBLDR and/or hire a ScopeBLDR. We make money by charging a 15% fee of the total value of the engagement between the ScopeBLDR and the customer at the end of a completed project.
